Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

1. Remove the left side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.



2. Disconnect the shock sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the shock sensor from the bolster bracket.

Important: Ensure that the shock sensor mounting surface is clean.

1. Install the shock sensor to the bolster bracket.
2. Connect the shock sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the left side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
4. Inspect the shock sensors for correct operation. Refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Operation .
