  1. Turn the headlamp switch IP dimmer switch to off.
  2. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  3. Close all vehicle doors.
  4. Observe the door locks and press the unlock button on the keyless entry transmitter.

Does the driver's door or all doors unlock, depending on the auto door lock mode, when using the keyless entry transmitter?

  1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  2. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  3. Insert the key in the driver's door key cylinder lock.
  4. Observe the courtesy lights and turn the key to unlock the driver's door.
  5. Wait 40 seconds.
  6. Insert the key in the RF door key cylinder lock.
  7. Observe the courtesy lights and turn the key to unlock the RF door.

Do the courtesy lights turn on for 40 seconds upon unlocking the door with a key?

  1. Close and latch the rear compartment lid.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Observe the Driver Information Display (DTD) or trip computer, if equipped.

Is the rear compartment lid ajar indicator off?

Perform the Content Theft Deterrent System Check again. Refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) System Check .

Does the content theft deterrent system work as described in the Content Theft Deterrent System Check?

The content theft deterrent system is malfunctioning due to a malfunction between the BCM and the keyless entry system. Refer to Remote Keyless Entry System Check in Keyless Entry.

The content theft deterrent system is malfunctioning due to a malfunction between the BCM and the door lock cylinder switches. Refer to Interior Lamps System Check in Lighting Systems.

The content theft deterrent system is malfunctioning due to a malfunction between the BCM and the rear compartment ajar switch input. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Driver Information Systems in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors/components removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. Remove the MALL PGM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. The BCM flashes the fasten belts indicator and sounds the chime 4 times identifying the BCM type installed on the vehicle.
  7. Within 1 second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the OFF position.
  8. Turn the ignition switch back to the ACC position. The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.

Are there any BCM DTCs present?
