  1. Remove the key from the ignition key lock cylinder.
  2. Close all the vehicle doors.
  3. Press LOCK and then press UNLOCK on the driver's door lock switch while observing the door locks.
  4. Press LOCK and then press UNLOCK on the passenger door lock switch while observing the door locks.

Do all doors lock and unlock when using either door lock switch?

  1. Disconnect the RCDLR electrical connector.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  3. Use a DMM to measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C2 terminal C8 and the RCDLR harness connector terminal E.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 5

  1. Replace the RCDLR.
  2. Reconnect the BCM.
  3. Reprogram all the transmitters. Refer to Keyless Entry System Circuit Description .
  4. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  5. Close all the vehicle doors.
  6. Press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter once while observing the door locks.
  7. Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter twice while observing the door locks.
  8. Press the alarm button (if equipped) on the keyless entry transmitter while observing the headlamps and listening to the horn.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door locks and the alarm (if equipped)?

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 377.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors/components removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. Remove the MALL PGM Fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle.
  7. Turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the OFF position.
  8. Turn the ignition switch back to the ACC position. The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.

Are there any BCM DTCs present?
