  1. Ensure that the IP dimmer switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Lower the driver's window in order to prevent a lockout.
  4. Close all of the vehicle doors.

Are all of the courtesy lights OFF?

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.
  2. Use a test light in order to probe between the BCM connector C2 terminal D5 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch electrical connector.
  2. Use a test light in order to probe between the headlamp switch harness connector terminal 0 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C2 terminal D5 and the headlamp switch harness connector terminal P.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Less than 2 ohms

The headlamps ON reminder is ON with the driver's door closed due to a malfunction between the BCM and the driver's door lock ajar switch. Refer to Interior Lamps System Check in Lighting Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect the BCM connector C2 terminal D5 for a poor connection.
  2. Replace the BCM if the connection is OK. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Repair the poor connection or the open in circuit 1340.

  1. Inspect the headlamp switch connector terminal P for a poor connection.
  2. Replace the headlamp switch if the connection is OK. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Repair the poor connection or the open in circuit 1872.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Install any connectors or components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. Remove the MALL PGM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
  7. The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type that is installed on the vehicle.

  8. Within 1 second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the OFF position, then back to the ACC position. The BCM sounds any stored DTC's.
