1. Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Using a scan tool, communicate with the inflatable restraint control module and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Class 2 serial data line.

Communication is established between the scan tool and all of the Class 2 modules.

Scan Tool Does Not Communicate w/Class 2 Data Line

Using a scan tool, communicate with the Heater-A/C control, Trip Calculator, and Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM) UART serial data line.

Communication is established between the scan tool and all of the UART modules.

Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with UART Data Line

Using a scan tool, communicate with the radio, multi-disc CD player, and instrument cluster head-up display.

Communication is established between the scan tool and all of the E/C modules.

Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with E and C Data Line
