Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 12303 Size: SH
  1. Position the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor to the block.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to hold the CKP sensor to the block face.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 20-40 N·m (14-28 lb ft).

    Object Number: 12302 Size: SH
  5. Reinstall the crankshaft position sensor shield.
  6. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
  7. Reinstall the crankshaft harmonic balancer on the crankshaft. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  8. Install the right inner fender access cover. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement in Body Front End.
  9. Install the right front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tire and Wheels.
  10. Tighten
