PARTS RETURN PROGRAM ALL RETURNED TO FACTORY

1988 GRAND PRIX PARTS RETURN PROGRAM

This bulletin supersedes bulletin 88-SM-4 which should be discarded.

Please continue to return all 1988 Grand Prix defective warranty parts (except glass, batteries and transaxle assemblies) to the assembly plant until February, 1988. -------------- To make the 1988 Grand Prix a "world class" contender, the Fairfax Assembly Plant has requested all parts except glass, batteries and transaxle assemblies be returned for evaluation. This will allow the plant and the suppliers to evaluate defective parts.

- This program will not penalize the dealer if parts are found not defective.

- The return program runs until February 29, 1988. DO NOT return parts after that period.

- Return parts as soon as the repair order is completed. You do not need to wait until the claim is paid.

- As a reminder, a weekly message will be sent to each dealer and will list the WRO's with parts to be returned.

- A copy of the repair order must be packaged protectively with the part(s).

- Use only the preprinted labels included with this bulletin so the parts will reach the correct location.

- Additional preprinted address labels are available from your zone office.

- Ship prepaid - do not send by air.

- Submit one claim monthly for freight reimbursement.

Your help and cooperation will make the 1988 Car Of The Year a world class quality vehicle.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
