Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement Pontiac
Removal Procedure
- Remove the upper trim cover from the
steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement
in Steering Wheel and
Column.
- Remove the lower screws from the instrument panel (I/P) cluster
trim plate.
- Remove the upper screws (1) from
the I/P cluster trim plate.
- Remove the I/P cluster trim plate.
Installation Procedure
- Position the trim plate tabs to the retainers
on the I/P cluster.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the upper screws (1) to the I/P cluster trim plate.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the lower screws to the I/P cluster
trim plate.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the upper trim cover to the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement
in Steering Wheel and Column.
