Removal Procedure
- Remove the head restraints
from the front bucket seat(s). Refer to
Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement
.
- Position the front bucket seat(s) completely forward.
- Remove the rear bolts from the seat adjuster.
Important: This will allow the seat tracks to be in proper alignment to be removed
from the floor pan retainers.
- Reposition the front bucket seat(s) midway on the seat tracks.
- Tilt the front bucket seat(s) forward and disconnect, if equipped,
the drivers power seat and seat belt electrical connectors.
- Disengage the front bucket seat track hook(s) from the floor pan
retainers.
- Remove the front bucket seat(s) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Important: This will allow the seat tracks to be in proper alignment to fit into
the floor pan retainers.
- Position the front bucket seat(s) midway on the seat tracks.
- Position the front bucket seat(s) to the vehicle.
- Tilt the seat(s) forwards to engage the front bucket seat track(s)
to the retainers in the floor pan.
- Connect, if equipped, the drivers power seat and seat belt electrical
connectors.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear bolts to the seat adjuster.
Tighten
Tighten the seat adjuster rear bolts to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
- Inspect the front bucket seat(s) for proper operation.
- Position the front bucket seat(s) to the original position.
- Install the head restraints to the front bucket seat(s). Refer
