Circuit Description

The Body Control Module (BCM) is connected to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver by the keyless entry serial data circuit. This circuit is the link for communication between the two modules.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The BCM is receiving a message from the remote control door lock receiver.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The BCM detects a short to voltage in the communication circuit.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The BCM stores DTC B2803 in memory.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present and the scan tool Clear DTCs function is used.
    • The BCM automatically clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles.

Diagnostic Aids

    • Thoroughly inspect the wiring and the connectors. An incomplete inspection of the wiring and the connectors may result in a misdiagnosis, causing a part replacement with a reappearance of the malfunction.
    • If an intermittent malfunction exists, refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.
