Resynchronization may be necessary due to the security method used by the remote function actuation system. The transmitter does not send the same signal twice to the receiver. The receiver will not respond to a signal that the receiver has sent previously. This prevents recording and playing back the signal from the transmitter.
Resynchronization does not send the mathematical formula to the receiver. Resynchronization verifies the programmed mathematical formula that is in the transmitter. Resynchronization is successful only if the transmitter is already programmed.
Resynchronization may be necessary under the following conditions:
• | The transmitter is weak. |
• | The transmitter battery was changed. |
• | The transmitter is pressed more than 255 times outside of the range of the receiver. |
In order to resynchronize the transmitter to the receiver, press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for approximately 7 seconds. The body control module receives a message from the receiver upon completion of the resychronization. The BCM then chirps the vehicle horns 3 times.
