Use a scan tool in order to perform the SPEED GAUGE SWEEP TEST.

Does the speedometer perform a full sweep when commanded?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Test drive the vehicle.
2. Use a scan tool in order to monitor the VEHICLE SPEED in ENGINE DATA 1.

Does the scan tool indicate a MPH value?

Go to Step 4

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check - 2.4L or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check - 3.4L in Engine Controls

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK
