VEHICLES AFFECTED: Early 1985 'N' Models With 3.0L MFI Engine (LN7)

A new service kit to revise 3.0L MFI engines built prior to December, 1984 is now available. This additional bypass supplements that already provided through the heater. The bypass kit part number 25527549 contains an adapter tee, 45 degrees elbow, pipe assembly, adapter hose, clamps (2) for adapter hose, clamps (2) for lower radiator hose, and adapter to lower radiator hose, thermostat and coolant outlet gasket (see illustration).

Several performance changes are provided by installing this kit including: reduced engine coolant temperature cycling; reduced temperature gauge cycling or an intermittent hot light; and reduced possibility of trapped air in the engine.

An installation instruction sheet is provided in the bypass kit. This kit also requires the use of three (3) tablets of 3634621 (6 tablets per package) cooling system supplement. cooling system supplement must be added before reinstalling the radiator cap to assure protection is maintained at original factory levels.
