TIE ROD ADJUST CLAMP BOLT NEW TORQUE SPECIFICATION

VEHICLE AFFECTED: 1985 'J' & 'N' Series Vehicles ------------------------------

The torque specification for 1985 'J' and 'N' series vehicle tie rod adjuster clamp bolts has been changed from the 1984 'J' series Service Manual Specification.

Anytime that a toe-in adjustment or other service is performed which requiring retightening of the tie rod adjust clamp bolts, the bolts must be retigthened to 55N.m (41 lbs. ft.).

When inner or outer tie rod service parts are replaced on past model 'J' series vehicles, the adjuster clamp bolts must also be retightened to 55N.m (41 1bs. ft.).
