DOME LIGHT OPERATION REPLACE DOOR JAMB SWITCH

CONDITION:

---------- Interior dome light remains on when door is closed or will not operate when door is opened.

CAUSE:

----- Door jamb switch contacts may be corroded due to the possibility of water entering from the A-Pillar area.

CORRECTION:

---------- 1) Replace jamb switch and clean or replace connectors.

2) To prevent the possible corrosion of jamb switch, loosen upper hinge and apply a bead of high quality medium-bodied sealer around entire perimeter of upper hinge. (See illustration).

3) Tighten upper hinge bolts to 40-55 N-m (36 to 40 ft. lb.).
