The following 1985 cluster information is provided to provide you with diagnostic procedures, service parts exchange, and parts ordering.

6000 & STE

Service parts exchange and parts ordering procedures are contained in Dealer Bulletin 85-SM-1.

FIREBIRD (WARRANTY & NON-WARRANTY)

MECHANICAL CLUSTERS (Includes Telltale and Gages) All instrument cluster components except the speedometer will continue to be serviced in the normal manner. Replacement parts should be obtained through WDDGM. The speedometer must be serviced through AC-Delco authorized service centers.

ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS

Electronic Instrument Clusters are serviced by the eight AC-Delco Electronic Instrument Cluster Service Centers listed in this bulletin. The exchange cluster part numbers listed below can be obtained by calling the toll free number listed for the nearest center. Exchange cluster will be shipped UPS within 24 hours, along with a memo billing. The billing will be cancelled when the inoperative unit is received by the service center along with a completed ACD 1078 Warranty Claim Form.

NOTICE: Kent-Moore Tool #J-33431-B, Signal Generator and Instrument Panel Tester will aid in the diagnosis of speedometer, tachometer, fuel economy displays, fuel level, oil pressure and temperature, and coolant temperature gages and telltale displays. Electronic clusters can also be analyzed with this tool.

GRAND AM (WARRANTY & NON-WARRANTY)

BASE TELLTALE & GAGE PACKAGE CLUSTERS

All instrument cluster components except the speedometer will continue to be serviced in the normal manner. Replacement parts should be obtained through WDDGM with the exception of the speedometer, which must be serviced through the eight AC-Delco authorized Electronic Instrument Cluster Service Centers listed in this bulletin.

FIERO

Cluster diagnostics, service parts, and parts ordering procedures are the same as 1984 Fiero procedures listed in Dealer Bulletin 84-8-1A.

There are new exchange unit part numbers for 1985 Fiero speedometer. This is the result of the removal of cruise control from the cluster assembly and the inclusion of cruise into a separate controller assembly. Fiero Electronic Quartz exchange units are available from the eight AC-Delco authorized service centers listed in this bulletin:

DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER

The Driver Information Center (DIC) module for Grand Am and Firebird is serviced only by exchange. They should be returned to either of the two authorized centers listed:
