WATER PUMP PULLEY SEPARATION INFORMATION

2.5L GRAND AM VEHICLES

The water pump pulley may separate on some 1985 Grand Am vehicles equipped with the 2.5L engine (VIN Code U).

The separation may be noticed in the spot welding area which attaches the two pulleys or a fracture at the hub weld joint.

New pulleys, part #10042037, are available through WDDGM.

Water pump bearing assembly should not be replaced unless damaged. Reference labor operation J3420.
