TIE ROD ADJUST CLAMP BOLT NEW TORQUE SPECIFICATION

The torque specification for 1985 Sunbird and Grand Am tie rod adjuster clamp bolts has been changed from the 1984 2000 Sunbird Service Manual specification.

Anytime that a toe-in adjustment or other service is performed which requires retightening of the tie rod adjuster clamp bolts, the bolts must be retightened to 55 N.m (41 lbs. ft.).

When inner or outer tie rod service parts are replaced on past model Sunbirds, the adjuster clamp bolts must also be retightened to 55 N.m (41 lbs. ft.).
