Did you review the Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the hazard lamps are inoperative.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

With the key in the ON position, using a fused jumper wire, ground the signal circuit between the hazard switch and the body control module (BCM).

Did the hazard lamps turn ON?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 4

With scan tool, command the hazard lamps to turn on.

Did the lamps turn on?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Test the supply voltage circuit between the HAZARD LAMPS fuse and the BCM for battery positive voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open or high resistance in the signal circuit between the hazard switch and the BCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the hazard lamp switch. Refer to Hazard Warning Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
