Removal Procedure
- Raise the rear compartment lid.
Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in the Preface section.
- Apply tape to the fascia and adjacent surfaces.
- Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to
Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the rear wheelhouse carpet panels. Refer to
Rear Wheelhouse Mat/Carpet Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the screws (6) from the left and right sides of the rear
bumper fascia assembly (5) to the rear wheelhouse liner (1).
- Remove the screws (2) from the left and right sides of the rear
bumper fascia assembly (5) to the liner and rear bumper fascia outer support.
- Carefully unclip the fascia assembly (5) from the guide assembly (3)
by grasping the upper end of the fascia and pulling away from the vehicle.
- Remove the nuts (1) from each side of the rear bumper fascia (4).
- Remove the retainers (3) from below the rear bumper fascia (4).
- Remove the center section of the rear compartment lid weatherstrip to
allow access to the 4 upper retainers (2).
- Remove the 4 upper retainers (2) from the rear bumper fascia assembly (4)
to the rear bumper fascia center support assembly.
- With the aid of an assistant, remove the bumper fascia (4) from
the vehicle.
- Remove the rear bumper fascia brackets from the rear bumper fascia, if
necessary. Refer to

- Remove the rear bumper fascia filler panel, if necessary. Refer to
Rear Bumper Filler Panel Replacement
.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear bumper fascia filler panel, if removed. Refer to
Rear Bumper Filler Panel Replacement
.
- Install the rear bumper fascia brackets to the rear bumper fascia, if
removed. Refer to
Rear Bumper Fascia Bracket Replacement
.
- With the aid of an assistant, position the rear bumper fascia to the vehicle.
- Install the nuts (1) to the rear bumper fascia assembly (4).
- Insert the retainers (2) across the rear compartment lid opening.
- Install the center section of the rear compartment lid weatherstrip.
- Insert the retainers (3) below the rear bumper fascia assembly (4).
- Align the left and right sides of the rear bumper fascia assembly (5)
to the quarter panel and clip the fascia assembly into the rear bumper fascia outer
support (3).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the screws (2) to the left and right sides of the rear bumper
fascia assembly (5).
Tighten
Tighten the screws (2) to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the screw (6) to the left and right sides of the rear bumper
fascia assembly (5).
Tighten
Tighten the screws (6) to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the nuts (1) to the rear bumper fascia (4).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts (1) to 8 N·m (70 lb in).
- Install the rear wheelhouse carpet panels. Refer to
Rear Wheelhouse Mat/Carpet Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to
Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the protective tape that was applied.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
