The resistance presented to the instrument cluster on terminal C1-28 is dependent upon the button selected on the trip computer switch. DTC 22 will set if any button on the trip computer is pressed for longer than 1 minute. The DTC is reset as soon as the button is released, and the DTC is logged as a History DTC.
By manipulating the harnesses at the various connectors it is often possible to isolate the cause of the circuit interruption. This harness can then be removed and repaired. Check for any damage to the harness, which could cause an intermittent open or short to earth or backed out terminals at the instrument cluster connectors, broken connector locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals.
