Front Seat Does Not Move Forward When Lever is Unlatched (Replace Micro Switch Assembly)

Subject:Front Seat Does Not Move Forward When Lever Is Unlatched (Replace Micro Switch Assembly)

Models:2004 Pontiac GTO

Condition

Some customers may comment that the front seat does not move forward when the "easy entry" lever is unlatched and the seat back is tilted forward.

Cause

This condition may be caused by poor retention of the micro switch in its housing. If the switch is loose, the "easy entry" lever cam will fail to activate the switch.

Correction

Replace the micro switch assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Position Switch Housing Assembly in SI (Document ID #1609630).
