When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

A new IPC has gone into production to correct a concern with the DIC on the 2004 GTO. Some previous GTO IPCs have been found to have a horizontal line across the face of the DIC or 1/2 of the DIC display is not visible. The new IPCs have the following part numbers and must be ordered from the address below:

* GMSPO has now released the new P/Ns for all IPCs in their system. (latest design level)

All 2004 Pontiac GTO clusters (IPC) must be ordered from the following address and/or phone number. The IPC must be programmed for current mileage, tire size, fuel gauge calibration and automatic or manual transmission once received by the dealer. The dealership must use the procedure in SI to complete the programming once the IPC is installed in the vehicle.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
