Removal Procedure
- Remove the RH lower instrument panel (I/P)
insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the
blower motor resistor (4).
- Remove the resistor retaining screws (3).
- Remove the blower motor resistor from the HVAC unit (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the blower motor resistor (4)
to the HVAC unit (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the resistor retaining screws (3).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the blower
motor resistor.
- Install the RH lower I/P insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side
in Instrument Panel, Gages
and Console.
