Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1377155  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the evaporator core from the vehicle. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Core Replacement .
  3. Remove the evaporator tube retaining screw (2).
  4. Remove the evaporator tubes (4) from the evaporator core (3).
  5. Remove and discard the O-rings (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install new O-rings (1) to the evaporator core tube fitting.
  2. Install the evaporator tubes (4) to the evaporator core (3).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Secure the evaporator tubes with the retaining screw (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  6. Install the evaporator core to the vehicle. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Core Replacement .
  7. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
