Removal Procedure
Notice: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor
in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.
- Depress the power steering reservoir retaining clip and lift it up on
the reservoir and set aside.
- Unbolt and remove the power steering reservoir mounting bracket. Refer
to
Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Bracket Replacement
in Power Steering.
- Disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the TP sensor attaching screws (5).
- Remove the TP sensor (6).
- Remove the TP sensor O-ring seal (7).
Installation Procedure
- Install the TP sensor O-ring seal (7)
on the TP sensor (6).
- Install the TP sensor (6) on the throttle body (1) with
the throttle valve in the closed position. Ensure that the TP sensor lever lines
up with the TP sensor drive lever on the throttle shaft.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the TP sensor attaching screws (5).
Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the power steering reservoir mounting bracket. Refer to
Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Bracket Replacement
in Power Steering.
- Install the power steering reservoir to the mounting bracket.
