🢒 Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
Removal Procedure
Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
Disconnect the radiator hose from the surge tank inlet fitting (1).
Disconnect the surge tank vapor hose (2).
Disconnect the surge tank overflow hose (3).
Pivot the surge tank (1), to remove from the rear surge tank anchor plate (2).
Pull inward (3) toward the engine to remove the surge tank from the anchor plate on the inner fender (4).
Disconnect the coolant level switch electrical connector (5).
Installation Procedure
Important:
Lubricate the inside diameters of the hoses with clean coolant prior to installation.
Connect the coolant level switch electrical connector (3).
Push outward (3) toward the fender to install the surge tank to the anchor plate on the inner fender (4).
Pivot the surge tank (1), to install it to the rear surge tank anchor plate (2).
Connect the surge tank overflow hose (3).
Connect the surge tank vapor hose (2).
Connect the radiator hose to the surge tank inlet fitting (1).
