Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning in the Preface section.

    Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1943684  Size: SH

    Note: Nuts with micro-encapsulated thread sealant must be discarded after removal.

  3. Remove the stabilizer bar insulator bracket to subframe retaining nuts (3) on both sides of the stabilizer bar (4).
  4. Discard the nuts.

  5. Remove the stabilizer bar insulator bracket (2) from the subframe (1) on both sides of the stabilizer bar.

  6. Object Number: 1949925  Size: SH
  7. Remove the stabilizer bar insulator (2) from both sides of the stabilizer bar (1).
  8. Inspect all parts for wear and damage.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1949925  Size: SH
  1. Install the stabilizer bar insulator (2) to both sides of the stabilizer bar (1).

  2. Object Number: 1943684  Size: SH
  3. Install the stabilizer bar insulator bracket (2) to the subframe (1) on both sides of the stabilizer bar.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the stabilizer bar insulator bracket to the subframe retaining nuts (3) on both sides of the stabilizer bar and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
  6. Remove the safety stands.
  7. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
