Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the trim pad - (I/P) Upper. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.

  5. Remove the I/P carrier (2) to A - pillar retaining bolts (1) the left side is shown the right side is the same.

  6. Object Number: 1957778  Size: SH
  7. Remove the upper I/P carrier to body panel retaining bolts (1) located at the top of the I/P carrier under the windshield.

  8. Object Number: 1957780  Size: SH
  9. Remove the lower I/P carrier (2) to transmission tunnel bracket retaining bolts (1).
  10. Note: When detaching the I/P wiring harness, make sure the I/P harness is attached as removed.

  11. Detach the I/P electrical wiring harness.
  12. Carefully remove the I/P carrier from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Carefully install the I/P carrier to the vehicle.
  2. Attach the I/P electrical wiring harness the I/P carrier.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1957780  Size: SH
  4. Install the lower I/P carrier (2) to transmission tunnel bracket retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Object Number: 1957778  Size: SH
  6. Install the upper I/P carrier to body panel retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Object Number: 1957775  Size: SH
  8. Install the I/P carrier (2) to A - pillar retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).
  9. Install the centre console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  10. Install the trim pad - (I/P) Upper. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  11. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  12. Test all electrical components for correct operation.
