Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 G8 🢒 HVAC 🢒 Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning 🢒 Heater Core Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 2041054 Size: SH
  2. Remove the foam seal (1) from the heater core pipes (2).

    3. Object Number: 2041055 Size: SH
  3. Remove the heater core pipes locating plate to HVAC module assembly retaining screws (1).
  4. Remove the heater core pipes locating plate (2) from the HVAC module assembly (3).
  5. Disconnect the recirculation actuator electrical connector (4).

    6. Object Number: 2041056 Size: SH
  6. Remove the air inlet housing to HVAC module assembly retaining bolts (1).

    7. Object Number: 2041057 Size: SH
  7. Remove the HVAC module assembly support brace to HVAC module assembly retaining screws (1).
  8. Remove the HVAC module assembly support brace (2) from the HVAC module assembly (3).

    9. Object Number: 2041058 Size: SH
  9. Separate the air inlet housing (2) from the HVAC module assembly (1).

    10. Object Number: 2041059 Size: SH

    Note: Remove the heater core (2) by sliding the heater core (2) out of the HVAC module assembly (1).

  10. Remove the heater core (2) from the HVAC module assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2041059 Size: SH

    Note: Install the heater core (2) by sliding the heater core (2) into the HVAC module assembly (1).

  1. Install the heater core (2) to the HVAC module assembly (1).

    2. Object Number: 2041058 Size: SH
  2. Install the air inlet housing (2) to the HVAC module assembly (1).

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2041056 Size: SH
  3. Install the air inlet assembly to HVAC module assembly retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

    4. Object Number: 2041057 Size: SH
  4. Install the HVAC module assembly support brace (2) to the HVAC module assembly (3).
  5. Install the HVAC module assembly support brace to HVAC module assembly retaining screws (1) and tighten to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

    6. Object Number: 2041055 Size: SH
  6. Connect the recirculation actuator electrical connector (4).
  7. Install the heater core pipes locating plate (2) to the HVAC module assembly (3).
  8. Install the heater core pipes locating plate to HVAC module assembly retaining screws (1).

    9. Object Number: 2041054 Size: SH
  9. Install the foam seal (1) to the heater pipes (2).
  10. Install the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement.
