Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
- Disengage the rear bumper fascia energy absorber (1) from the from the rear bumper impact bar (2) by applying suitable outward pressure to the indicted areas (3) along the body of the rear bumper fascia energy absorber (1).
Important: The rear bumper fascia energy absorber is a critical safety item and must be handle with due care. If the rear bumper fascia energy absorber is damaged in any way during installation or removal, it must be replaced.
Important: Care must be taken not to damage the rear bumper fascia energy absorber to rear impact bar retaining clips (4)
Installation Procedure
- Engage the rear bumper fascia energy absorber (1) onto the rear bumper impact bar (2) making sure that the retention tabs (3) and the rear bumper fascia energy absorber to rear impact bar retaining clips (4) engages audibly.
- Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
Important: The rear bumper fascia energy absorber is a critical safety item and must be handle with due care. If the rear bumper fascia energy absorber is damaged in any way during installation or removal, it must be replaced.
