This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIC4085B.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Anytime when servicing the Retractable Hard Top, and it is necessary to move the deck lid manually PLEASE be aware that the flow of hydraulic fluid still takes place and the position on the latches may change.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Pay particular attention to the two rear latches that secure the deck lid in the reverse open position. If these two outward claw type latches release (due to manual system movement of the deck lid) the center latch will still hold the deck lid in place.

When the decklid is in this position, DO NOT release the deck lid latch using the RKE, the deck lid release switch on the driver's door, the child Lock pull release or the Tech II using the Trunk Ajar option.

Important: THIS COULD CAUSE THE DECK LID TO FULLY RELEASE and cause damage to the vehicle.

Important: For additional information on this issue please reference IDL Course Numbers 12442.10V and 10206.13D

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
