Power Windows Index Incorrectly - keywords clip dead disconnect door glass low inop inoperative shatter switch

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

The power windows index incorrectly and or windows drop excessively when opening doors. (more then the normal 20mm)

This feature automatically lowers the window a small amount when the door is opened. Then when the door is closed, the window will automatically raise.

Important: You MUST have the Convertible top up before starting the re-initialization.

1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling the power window switch up.
3. Hold the window switch up for two seconds after the window is closed. Release the switch. Then hold the switch up again for two seconds.
4. Lower the window all the way down. Hold the switch down for two seconds.
5. Repeat the procedure for each window, including the rear quarter windows on convertible models, until all windows are initialized.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
