The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Rattle noise heard from top near quarter glass windows/ b-pillar area while driving. Noise may be more noticeable on rough roads.

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. With top in service position, remove headliner from front panel to gain access to the panel-to-panel latches located on the top near where the front and rear glass meet. Fully close top.
  2. Loosen the two Torx screws on the latch just enough so that it can be moved.
  3. Using a screw driver, move latch up toward the top of the car approximately 2mm and re-torque to 10+-2 NM.
  4. With headliner still removed, cycle top 1-2 times and listen for any noises. If a popping sound is heard from either latch during top movement, adjust latch back down 1mm at a time until popping noise is gone. After adjustments, drive vehicle to verify that noise complaint is resolved.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
