Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.

  3. Object Number: 1835586  Size: SH
  4. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, disconnect the ABS routing harness connectors (1) and position the harness aside. Note the routing for assembly.

  5. Object Number: 1835736  Size: SH
  6. Remove the upper control arm to support assembly bolt and nut.

  7. Object Number: 1835765  Size: SH
  8. Remove the upper control arm to knuckle bolt and nut.
  9. Remove the upper control arm from the vehicle through the wheelhouse opening.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1835765  Size: SH
  1. Position the upper control arm to the support assembly and knuckle through the wheelhouse opening.
  2. Install the upper control arm to knuckle bolt and nut. Hand tighten only.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the upper control arm to support assembly bolt.
  5. Tighten

        • Tighten the upper control arm to support assembly bolt to 60 N·m (44 lb ft) plus 60 degrees.
        • Tighten the upper control arm to knuckle bolt to 110 N·m (81 lb ft) plus 70 degrees.

  6. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS,route the harness and connect the ABS routing harness connectors (1).
  7. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
