DTC Descriptors
DTC B3683 58: Movable Roof Header Ready to Latch Left Sensor Circuit incorrect reaction after event
DTC B3683 59: Movable Roof Header Ready to Latch Left Sensor Circuit circuit/component protection time out
Circuit/System Description
S17 is part of the Folding Top Front Location Pin Guide - Left assembly. The folding top control (FTC) module uses S17 to determine if the headliner dowel is present at the left front of the header. S17 is closed and pulls the signal circuit low
when the dowel is not present.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The FTC module is being commanded.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
An open or a short to ground are present on the signal circuit of S17.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The top is disabled.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The fault is no longer present and the top completes one cycle.
Diagnostic Aids

Circuit/System Testing
- Disconnect S17.
- Use a scan tool to monitor Folding Top Header Dowel Pin.
- The scan tool should indicate In Position.
⇒ | If scan tool does not indicate In Position, test the signal circuit of S17 for a short to ground. |
⇒ | If circuit OK, replace FTC Module. |
- Connect a fused jumper wire between the signal circuit and ground.
- The scan tool should indicate Not In Position.
⇒ | If the scan tool does not indicate Not In Position, test the signal circuit for an open or high resistance. |
⇒ | If circuit OK, replace FTC Module. |
- Probe the ground circuit of S17 with a test lamp connected to B+. The test lamp should illuminate.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, repair an open or high resistance in the ground circuit. |
- If circuits test OK, replace S17.
