Was the Backup Light System Check performed?

Go to Backup Lamp System Check

1. Test that the backup lamp switch for a manual transaxle is not stuck in the closed position.
2. Test that the transaxle range switch for an automatic transaxle is not stuck in the R position.

Does the switch test OK?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Repair the short to voltage in the RED wire between the switch and S401. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Backup Lamp System Check

Replace the switch. Refer to Backup Lamp Switch Replacement in Manual Transmission or Transaxle Range Switch in Automatic Transmission.
