  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the backup lamp switch connector with a test lamp from cavity 1 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Engage the parking brake.
  2. Move the gearshift control level to the R position.
  3. Backprobe the connector of the right rear combination lamp with a test lamp from cavity 4 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Test for an open in the YEL wire between the junction block and the backup lamp switch.

Was an open found?

Go to Step 9

Replace the junction block.

Is the repair complete?

Test for an open in the BLK wire between G400 and S402 (2-door), or S407 (4-door).

Was an open found?

Test for an open in the RED wire between the backup lamp switch and S401.

  3. Backprobe the right rear combination lamp connector with a test lamp from cavity 4 to ground.
