Ignition Coil Replacement 1.0L
Removal Procedure
- Remove the coil wire from
the ignition coil.
- Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
- Disconnect the ignition coil ground wire electrical connector.
- Remove two bolts and the ignition coil mounting bracket (1)
from the bulkhead.
- Remove two screws and the ignition coil from the mounting bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the ignition coil
to the ignition coil mounting bracket (1). Secure with two screws.
- Install the ignition coil mounting bracket to the bulkhead. Secure
with two bolts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the ignition coil mounting bracket bolts to 15 N·m
(11 lb ft).
- Connect the ignition coil ground wire electrical connector.
- Connect the ignition coil electrical connector.
- Connect the coil wire to the ignition coil.
Ignition Coil Replacement 1.3L
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the ignition
coil (4) electrical connectors.
- Carefully release the number 1 spark plug wire from the clip on
the number 2-3 ignition coil.
- Remove the number 1 spark plug wire from the number 1-4
ignition coil.
- Remove the number 3 spark plug wire from the number 2-3
ignition coil.
- Remove the 2 bolts from each ignition coil.
- Remove the ignition coils.
Installation Procedure
- Install the ignition coils
(4). Secure with the 2 bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 bolts to 10 N·m (8 lb ft).
- Install the number 1 spark plug wire to the number 1-4
ignition coil.
- Install the number 3 spark plug wire to the number 2-3
ignition coil.
- Carefully secure the number 1 spark plug wire in the clip on the
number 2-3 ignition coil.
- Connect the ignition coil electrical connectors.
