Did you perform the Power Roof Diagnostic System Check?

Operate the power roof.

Does system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Operate the driver side window switch.

Does the left window operate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 4

Operate the radio.

Does the radio operate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Inoperative in Retained Accessory Power

1. Remove WINDOWS CKT BRKR circuit breaker.
2. Connect a test lamp between the RAP relay switch supply circuit to the circuit breaker to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Inoperative in Retained Accessory Power

Test the ignition 3 voltage circuit for an open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 43

1. Disconnect the folding top switch.
2. Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage circuit of the folding top switch harness connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage circuit and the convertible top motor up control input of the folding top switch harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage circuit and the convertible top motor down control input of the folding top switch harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate.

1. Disconnect the folding top pump harness connector.
2. Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage circuit of the folding top switch harness connector to the convertible top motor up control output circuit of the folding top switch harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the convertible top motor up control output circuit of the folding top switch harness connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage circuit of the folding top switch harness connector to the convertible top motor down control output circuit of the folding top switch harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the convertible top motor down control output circuit of the folding top switch harness connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

1. Connect the folding top switch.
2. Connect a test lamp between the convertible top motor up control output circuit and the convertible top motor down control output circuit of the folding top switch harness connector.
3. Operate the folding top switch to the up and down positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate each time?

Test the convertible top motor up control circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the vehicle equipped with ETA, a folding top relay?

1. Connect the folding top switch.
2. Disconnect the folding top relay.
3. Connect a jumper wire between the ground input circuit and the ground switch output of the folding top relay harness connector.
4. Operate the Power Roof.

Does the Power Roof operate normally?

1. Remove the jumper wire.
2. Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage coil input circuit and the ground input circuit of the folding top relay harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

1. Verify that the vehicle is in PARK.
2. Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage coil supply circuit and the A/T shift lock solenoid supply voltage circuit of the folding top relay harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the ignition 3 voltage coil supply circuit and the ground input circuit of the folding top relay harness connector.

Repair an open or a high resistance in the ground circuit input of the folding top relay to ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open or a high resistance in the ignition 3 voltage circuit of the folding top relay coil supply voltage. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
