Power Seat System Components
The power seat system consists of the following components:
• | Driver seat adjuster switch |
• | Passenger seat adjuster switch |
• | Driver horizontal adjuster motor |
• | Driver front vertical adjuster motor |
• | Driver rear vertical adjuster motor |
• | Passenger horizontal adjuster motor |
• | Passenger front vertical adjuster motor |
• | Passenger rear vertical adjuster motor |
• | DEFOG/SEATS 30A circuit breaker |
Driver and Passenger Power Seat Operation
The power seat switch is supplied battery positive voltage from the
DEFOG/SEATS 30A circuit breaker through circuit 1240. The switch is grounded
through circuit 1450. Each adjuster motor is controlled by two switches connected
through the adjuster motor supply circuits. The seat adjuster switches are
closed to ground when inactive. When a seat adjuster switch is pressed from
an inactive position to an active position the switch contact is moved from
ground to battery positive voltage while the inactive switch provides the
ground. The direction of the adjuster motor rotation is determined by which
supply circuit is battery positive and which is ground.
