Removal Procedure

  1. Release the fasteners located at the front of the air cleaner duct/resonator assembly.
  2. Release the button fasteners located at the rear of the air cleaner duct assembly.
  3. Loosen the hose clamp from the air intake duct at the air cleaner duct assembly.
  4. Loosen the hose clamp from the air intake duct at the throttle body assembly.

  5. Object Number: 229388  Size: SH
  6. Remove the air intake duct from the air cleaner duct/resonator assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 229388  Size: SH
  1. Position the air intake duct at the front of the air cleaner assembly.
  2. Position the air intake duct onto the front of the throttle body unit.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Securely fasten the hose clamp at the air cleaner assembly.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Securely fasten the hose clamp at the throttle body assembly.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Position the air cleaner assembly onto the radiator support.
  9. Install the button fasteners located at the rear of the air cleaner assembly.
