POWER STEERING PUMP BRACKET REPLACEMENT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987 F CARS WITH 2.8L PFI EN ----------------

Some 1987 Chevrolet Camaros or Pontiac Firebirds with 2.8L Multi-port fuel injection engine, power steering and air conditioning may exhibit a loss of the serpentine accessory drive belt due to a broken power steering pump bracket and/or power steering pump brace.

To service this condition, the power steering pump bracket should be replaced; and, a new design four-point power steering pump rear brace should be installed as a replacement for the production three-point design. All replacement hardware and the instructions for installing the power steering pump bracketry may be obtained by ordering Service Package, P/N 10099904.
