SEAT RECLINER COVER CONTACTS SEAT BELT RETRACTOR

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987 TRANS AM GT -----------------

Some owners of 1987 Firebirds GTA may comment on an interference between the seat recliner cover panel and the seat belt retractor on the passenger and/or drivers seat.

To eliminate this condition replace the seat recliner cover with a new cover available through the Parts Department. Part Number, 12391712, passenger side and P/N 12391713, drivers side.

In some cases a small amount of additional clearance may be achieved by loosening the floor pan to adjuster attachments and positioning seat assembly inboard as far as possible.
