MODELS AFFECTED 1987 TRANS AM GTA MODELS --------------- Some owners of 1987 Firebird GTA models may comment on an interference between the seat recliner cover panel and the seat belt retractor on the passenger and/or drivers seat.

To eliminate this condition replace the seat recliner cover with a new cover available from GMSPO. Part Number, 12391712, passenger side and P/N 12391713, drivers side.

In some cases a small amount of additional clearance may be achieved by loosening the floor pan to adjuster attachments and positioning seat assembly inboard as far as possible.
