LUBRICANT SPECIFICATION REVISED INFORMATION

A special lubricant, GM part #1050010, is required for all Borg-Warner produced axles in 1985 Firebirds. Use of any other lubricant can damage this axle. The Borg-Warner axle is used for all limited-slip differential applications in the Firebird. The lubricant can be used with the standard differential with V-8 engines.

Standard differential with L-4 and V-6 engines use existing axle lubricant.

The first printings of the GM Maintenance Schedule and Firebird Owner's Manuals will not contain this information.
