The Low Traction indicator is controlled by the instrument panel cluster (IPC) via serial data messages from the electronic brake control module (EBCM). When the antilock brake system (ABS), traction control system (TCS), or vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) is active for 0.5 seconds, the EBCM commands the IPC to turn ON the Low Traction indicator.
The Low Traction indicator will also turn ON during the IPC bulb check. When the ignition switch is turned to ON, the Low Traction indicator will turn ON for approximately 3 seconds and then turn OFF.

Use the scan tool to check the normal state of the Low Traction indicator control.
Ensures that the IPC can operate the Low Traction indicator.
