Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement .
  3. Remove the parking brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.

  4. Object Number: 428513  Size: SH
  5. Remove the fasteners from the left I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.
  6. Remove the left I/P end bracket.

  7. Object Number: 450371  Size: SH
  8. Remove the fasteners from the right I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.
  9. Remove the left I/P end bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 428513  Size: SH
  1. Install the left I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fasteners to the left I/P end bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 50 N·m (37 lb in).

  5. Install the right I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.
  6. Install the fasteners to the right I/P end bracket.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 50 N·m (35 lb in).

  8. Install the parking brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.
  9. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement .
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
