J 24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 397546  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the adjustment link retaining nut.

  4. Object Number: 643351  Size: SH
  5. Using J 24319-B separate the adjustment link form the knuckle.

  6. Object Number: 105028  Size: SH
  7. Remove the adjustment link nut and bolt.
  8. Remove the adjustment link.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 397546  Size: SH
  1. Install the adjustment link to the control arm.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the adjustment link to the control arm retaining nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the adjustment link to control arm to 50 N·m (36 lb ft).

  5. Install the adjustment link to the support assembly.
  6. Install the adjustment link to support bolt and nut.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the adjustment link retaining nut at the support assembly to 91 N·m (67 lb ft).

  8. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Check toe adjustment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications in Wheel Alignment.
