Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 587944 Size: SH
  2. Remove the nuts that retain the applique to the rear compartment lid.
  3. Pry gently between the rear compartment lid and the applique with a flat bladed tool, in order to release the applique from the lid
  4. Remove the applique from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 587944 Size: SH
  1. Position the applique to the rear compartment lid.

    2. Ensure that the lock cylinder shaft is seated through the rear compartment lid, and is fully in the latch.

  2. Press the applique into the rear compartment lid in order to engage the retainers.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts in order to retain the applique.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the rear compartment lid trim.
